The Birth of Messiah
The Birth of Messiah is normally celebrated around the world as Christmas, which literally means The Festival of Christ. In fact, those who don\'t even believe in Yahushua get involved in celebrating the festival. As a believer, what is more important to you, just to enjoy it or to proclaim about His birth as the messengers did to the shephards?
According to Mattithyahu (Mathew) 1: 21, \"you shall call His Name Yahushua for He shall save His people from their sins.\"
The meaning of Yahushua is \"Yah\'s salvation (God\'s salvation)\". He has saved us from the Penalty of Sin by giving His life on the cross. He is saving us now from the Power of Sin by living and ruling right inside of us. He will come again to save us from the Presence of Sin.
The birth of our Messiah was well prophecised long before He was conceived as in the following verses:
\"But you, Beyth Lehem Ephrathah, you who are little among the clans of Yehudah, out of you shall come forth to Me the One to become Ruler in Yisrael. And His coming forth are of old, from everlasting.\" Mikah 5:2
For a Child shall be born unto us, a Son shall be given unto us, and the rule is on His shoulder. And His Name is called Wonder, Counsellor, Strong El, Father of Continuity, Prince of Peace. Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 9:6
\"Because there was born to you today in the city of Dawid a Saviour, who is Messiah, the Master.
And this is the sign to you: You shall find a baby wrapped up, lying in a feeding trough\".
And suddenly there was with the messenger a crowd of the heavenly host praising Elohim and saying, \"Esteem to Elohim in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased!\" Luke 2:11 -14
As believers of the birth, the death, the resurrection and the return of our Messiah, it is the time to reflect and proclaim the Good News to our families, friends, work colleagues and to the world around us.
